Launch feedback is spread across five Slack threads
Screenshots in one thread, replies in another, decisions in a DM. How to pull website feedback back into one place before launch, and keep it there next time.
It's two days before launch. The feedback is in the #launch channel, two threads under the designer's post, a DM from the CEO and somebody's email titled "few thoughts". Half of it has been fixed. Nobody is quite sure which half.
This happens to nearly every team, and it isn't anyone being careless. Slack is great for talking. It's terrible for remembering. A note about a website has to stay next to the thing it's about until somebody fixes it, and a busy channel scrolls it out of sight in an afternoon.
What I'd do right now
Make one Lasso collection for the launch, then go through the threads once. Every item that's still open gets pinned on the page it's about, with a short note in your own words. It's tedious for twenty minutes, but it's the last time anyone scrolls back through those threads.
Then share the collection and post a single message in the channel. "All launch feedback lives here now. New notes go on the page. Resolve them once they're fixed." From then on, anybody can open the page and see what's left, and since each note has its own screenshot, nobody needs to ask which one you meant.
Next time
Start with the collection, not the channel. People will keep chatting in Slack, which is completely fine. The notes just live on the page now. When someone asks about one, paste its super link. It opens the live page right at that spot, with every other pin around it, and the thread stays mercifully short.
Prefer seeing new notes in Slack? On the Studio plan Lasso can post them into a channel for you, so nobody has to change their habits to stay in the loop.
