Our designer is in another time zone
When the only overlap is an hour a day, every review that needs a call costs a day. How to give design feedback on the live site that someone can act on while you're asleep.
Your designer starts as you're logging off. The one hour of overlap goes on a screen share where you scroll, they take notes, and someone says "wait, go back" six times. Anything you forget waits another full day.
Working across time zones is great until feedback needs a meeting. The fix is feedback that makes sense without you there to explain it.
What to do
Review the page whenever suits you, and leave each note on the element it's about. With Lasso you click the spacing, the headline or the image and type what you'd change. Each note keeps a screenshot of what you saw, so it still makes sense after the designer has already moved things around.
When they start their day, they open the collection and work through the notes in any order. They can reply on a note when something needs a decision, @mention you, and resolve it when it's done. You wake up to a list of what changed and what still needs your eye.
Keep the call for the hard stuff
You'll still want to talk sometimes, about direction or anything that's a matter of taste. But the pixel-level notes don't need a meeting, and moving them onto the page frees the overlap hour for the conversations that actually need it. We wrote more about this in async feedback without recording a video.
Every Lasso comment has a super link that opens the live page at that exact spot, so a note in Slack never needs a "which one?" reply across time zones.
