Guides · Using Lasso
Share a collection with your team
Collections start private. How to add teammates, what they can do once they're in, who can remove people, and how to keep a collection to yourself.
New collections are private. Nobody sees them but you, and they stay that way until you decide otherwise.
Adding people
Hit Share in the side panel. Start typing someone's email and Lasso suggests people from your team. Pick one, click Add, repeat for whoever else. They'll get an email, and the collection pops up in their library and panel without them doing anything.
Can't find someone? They probably aren't on your Lasso team yet. Invite them from Invite in the web app first, and they'll show up in the list after that.
So what can they do?
Pretty much everything a reviewer needs. They see every comment, add their own, reply, tag people and resolve things. Whoever spots the problem, whoever makes the call and whoever ships the fix are all in one thread, which is kind of the whole idea.
There are a handful of things I kept locked down on purpose, though.
- Only the author can edit a comment. Not even the owner can change your words.
- A comment can be deleted by whoever wrote it, or by the collection owner.
- Kicking people out is the owner's job. Leaving is always allowed, for anyone.
- Renaming, deleting and integrations belong to the owner too.
Keeping it private
Easy, just don't add anybody. With no collaborators the only member is you. It's a good home for first reactions and competitor notes, the stuff you're not ready to put in front of anyone.
Private and shared collections happily live on the same page. Flip between them at the top of the panel and the pins change.
Too many emails?
Busy collections get noisy. In the web app, open that collection's Settings and turn notifications down for just that one. You can choose everything, replies, mentions or nothing at all. Mentions still come through unless you pick nothing, so a real question won't get lost.

Questions people ask
Who can I share a collection with?
People on your Lasso team. Invite someone to the team first from Invite in the web app, then add them to any collection.
Can anyone in the collection add people?
Yes. Any member can add teammates. Only the owner can remove other people, and anyone can leave a collection they were added to.
Can people outside my team see a comment?
Only through a super link, and only after they sign in with access. Without access they see a page saying the comment isn't available.
Can I turn off emails for one busy collection?
Yes. In the collection's Settings you can choose all activity, replies only, mentions only or nothing, just for you.
