Guides · Using Lasso
Share a comment with a super link
Every Lasso comment has its own link. Paste it into Slack, Notion or an email and it opens the live page, scrolled to that comment, with every pin in place.
Pasting a screenshot into Slack starts the same conversation every time. Which page is this? Which button? Is this still how it looks? A super link skips all of that.
Every comment in Lasso has its own link. When a teammate clicks it, Lasso opens the live page, scrolls to the comment and shows every pin your team has left there.
Copy the link
Hover a comment card in the side panel and click the link icon. You'll see "Link copied to clipboard". Paste it anywhere, Slack, Notion, email, a ticket.
You also get a Copy link button on the little card that pops up right after you save a comment with Alt+C, so you can share it the moment you write it.
What happens when someone clicks it
- They have the extension. The live page opens with the Lasso panel showing that collection, and the page scrolls down to the comment.
- They don't. They see the comment, its screenshot and the thread in the Lasso web app, and can reply from there.
- They don't have access. They see a page saying the comment isn't available. Nothing about it leaks to people outside the collection.
Visit, the same thing from the web app
Every comment in the web app has a Visit button that does what a super link does. Open the collection, find the comment, click Visit, and the live page opens with the panel and scrolls to it. Handy when the person fixing the copy wasn't in the review.
Link a whole page
Want to send someone to a page rather than one comment? Use the link icon in the side panel header. It copies a link that opens the page with that collection's pins on it. It shows up when the page has comments in the collection you're viewing.
Next
To browse everything at once instead of one link at a time, use the web app library.
Questions people ask
What does the other person need to open a super link?
A Lasso account with access to the collection. With the extension installed, the link opens the live page with the side panel. Without it, they see the comment and its screenshot in the web app.
Does the link break if the comment moves to another collection?
No. The link finds the comment wherever it is when someone clicks it.
What happens if the comment was deleted?
The link opens a page saying the comment isn't available. It never shows a deleted comment.
